Is Our Hip Hop Too Forgiving ? - DJ Mister Cee Arrested in NY For Allegedly Receiving Oral Sex From A Man! (Read My Questions Yall I Want Answers!)

Now first and foremost let me say that I'm definitely a fan of Cee's and always have been, I believe that what he's brought to this Hip Hop culture as a whole makes him a true pioneer and it goes beyond what words can express, therefore I'd like to start by saying that I'd like to think and hope that this allegation isn't true.

Furthermore, my following statements branch further than this particular incident so if you'd like to read more about Mister Cee and this allegation than check it out at KTLA.com!

My Question to yall!!

My question to you guys (and I really would like a Response! lol) is in light of this, do you think that overall Hip Hop has been too forgiving??

Now Be Clear: Although I am not a homosexual, ...I do strongly believe that everyone should have the right to love who they want to love and date who they want to date. It's just that I remember there was a time in Hip Hop though whereif you kissed another man (and we all know who..if not below is a lil reminder..lol)or if you wore "Super Tight Clothes"...there would have been immediately 10,000 lyrical darts thrown at you to wage you in to war! So basically my point is, I'm not asking if Hip Hop is too forgiving because we shouldn't allow "homosexuals" to rapp, i'm asking where has the "competitiveness" gone ??? Where has that beastly "Hip Hop Aggression" gone?? Where someone would grab that Mic and let you know..Like Dawg "You Kiss Men!! You aint a Gangsta!!'?? lol You Know?..where someone would address it lyrically!

Am I crazy?? Am I the only one who feels this way?? Let me know? any way #ShoutOut to DJ Mister Cee! Like I said I'd like to think and hope its not true but, even if it is you still are who you are dude, your're a great DJ and this predicament wont change that but, this incident just prompted me to ask my Hip Hop community something that I've been wondering for quite sometime now! Where has the aggression gone??

So Peace Everybody! and leave your thoughts please!

Wow..call me old but in the 90's we would have saw some ill battles behind this one! lol!

I don't think it's a matter of being too forgiving, the aggression still exists. It's just that when it comes to homosexuality specifically, people don't want to address it anymore in fear of the backlash they'll receive. Instead of people saying/spitting what they really feel, they prefer to not ruffle any feathers in fear that it could tarnish their image, or mess with their cash flow. Even though this is not hip hop Carrie Prejean was stripped of her Miss California crown after she openly opposed same-sex marriages. Not to mention, she didn't volunteer the information, they asked her!!! When it comes to homosexuality, people can't even have an opposing opinion or value system anymore without being lynched for their beliefs. In no way shape or form am I a fan of gay-bashing, which is what a song talking about Mr. Cee's preferences would be labeled as, but THIS HAPPENED IN PUBLIC!!! Surely someone could write sixteen bars about that without being lynched, lol!

Hip Hop has already changed on so many levels why should this be any different, Hip Hop changed because the market changed and it's about making money not expressing yourself lyrically and creatively. In addition to the latter Mister Cee is not a rapper ( I think). If he was a rapper that was caught with a man...in deed there would possibly be some type of comment from another colleague. With that being said, going back to my point about the market, it could affect sales. There is a broad gay community of hip hop fans which some may very well be rappers themselves. Now Mister Cee should have handled his business in private...why the public? I don't get it.
